Happy New Year and Thank You Guys Very Much!!

It has been a crazy ride this year but we made it!...I can not thank each and everyone of you enough for the support you have given myself and family this year. You all have truly been a blessing. I am home still recovering from this transplant. I feel very good most of the time. I breath unbelievably now. I have gotten some color back to my skin and am back up to 175 ILBS. from 135 after the surgery. I take over 40 pills and caspsules combined each day. I am on a higher dose of prograf so the swelling in my face is still pretty obvious.

Mike is back at home/ Benefit Fishing Tournament

Mike has been released from the recovery apartment and is back at home in Luling. His last check up went really well and there are no signs of infection.

Update and benefit luncheon

This is Jeff, hanging with Mike tonight. Mike hasn't updated in a while, but he's feeling great! Just completed his second bronchoscopy this morning and hopefully we will get better results than last time. There was some signs of rejection on the last test but nothing that the doctors weren't expecting in a case like this. Mike will update himself when the results come in. He's so very grateful for all the donations. And the prayers, too! Check out this link for information on a luncheon benefit for Mike, should be a great time!

Still at Oschner hoping to get Home soon!

Just got finished taking a 3 Day regiment of Solumedrol, (Steroid), to control the risk of rejection. Im feeling fantastic under the circumstances. Sometimes the Meds can play with my emotions like a rollercoaster ride. physically I feel great. I had a routine out-patient bronchoscopy and the doctor said everything looked very positive. Im still living in the Oschner Apartment next to the hospital! Ive been getting alot of visitors lately and everyone has been absolutely great to me. Ms. Pat and Renee from West St. Charles Parish Baptist Church brought by a terrific home cooked supper.

Hello Everyone It's Me..(Alive and Kickin)!!!

Today makes 1 month since my transplant. I feel incredible! My recovery is going extremely well. I cant say enough great things about the Transplant Team here at Oschner in New Orleans. They are an unbelievable caring and professional group of people. I could not have made a better decision in my life than to stay here for treatment. Im still living in a Oschner apartment roughly 2 blocks from the Emergency Room and still need someone to stay with me 24 hours a day in case I have a rejection type event. So Far, everything has been great.

Come show your support for Michael and his family to help with the mounting medical bills, transportation costs, and daily financial strain to his family due to his illness and inability to work.

Mike has been moved to an apartment on Ochsner's campus and will remain there under constant supervision until he is released! He is doing well, sore and recovering. Keep the prayers and support coming!

Just Spoke To Mike

I just spoke to Mike and he sounds great. He's walking around a bit and is in great spirits. He's still uncomfortable with pain but it's decreasing everyday. He was very pleased when I mentioned how many have inquired about or expressed interest in his condition. He was very appreciative and says 'Thank You' to everyone.
